Volunteer to Build the Temple

The Burning Man Temple build is an enormous communal effort over the course of many months. Each year, hundreds of people get involved as volunteers in pre-playa build activities, and 100+ people spend 2-3 weeks in the Black Rock Desert building, burning, and cleaning up after the Temple.

The Temple brings together people with a myriad of skills as well as “unskilled” volunteers who want to learn on the job. We invite everyone to join our team!

Pre-Playa Update

We are finished with pre-building the temple! Please visit the Temple of the Moon build site on playa during the day and look for the Welcome sign to speak with our project coordinators if you would like to volunteer some time to build. Bring your own PPE!

Keep in mind this will be an active build site and dangerous – do not approach the construction area without permission and guidance.

We do not have additional early setup passes available, but if you are done working on your art project or camp, we welcome the extra hands.

Please consider volunteering with MOOPing the Temple build site and burn scar – that is a gigantic job that truly takes a village. We love you, volunteers!
